For iPhone 7 users, there's now pleasant little taptic feedback on these buttons too. Makes it feel just a little bit more like shooting with physical controls! I know many of them are long overdue.
Apologies for the delay, I've recently moved from Ireland to New York and haven't had a lot of time to dedicate to Obscura. But there are good things in the pipeline to look forward to. In terms of more exciting changes: - There's now an indicator to show you what camera mode you're using. - An option in Obscura's settings to always open the camera to a specific mode (for those RAW enthusiasts out there) - A redesigned information bar at the top of the camera view which makes it clearer when camera settings change What's New in Version 4.1.3Lots of bug fixes, particularly in regard to the Front Facing Camera, Telephoto Camera on the iPhone 7 Plus and the Flash settings.

And with that comes a new pricing model for Obscura. It'll now be paid upfront and all the filters will be made available to everyone, free of charge. There's a handful of new features of course, including: - A Photos extension for applying Obscura's wonderful filters on photos you may have taken with other, lesser camera apps. - A vastly improved photo browser. You can now swipe left and right between photos. (Finally.) as well as more obvious sharing controls. (Pro tip: press and hold on a photo in the browser to bring up the share sheet) - Performance enhancements. So very many of them. Everything should feel snappier. Camera - Manual Focus - Manual Slider - Pinch to Zoom - Introducing Focus Peaking. - When focusing manually, edges with be highlighted to help you determine when objects are in focus. And if it’s not your thing, it can be enabled and disabled in the settings. Filters - The filter picker has been redesigned and now lets you set favourites to swipe between directly from the camera - It’s now easier to see and purchase extra filters which are no longer buried in the settings. - There’s a new set of 6 filters. They’re absolutely Mad.. Settings - A whole new redesign for Settings. Woohoo. Obscura *finally* has access to your Camera Roll. I wanted it. You wanted it. Now it’s here. Just swipe left across the controls to see your recent photos. Sharing From the Camera Roll you can tap on any of the photos, swipe up on them to share or swipe downwards to close. (Instagram support coming soon, okay?) Filter Picker Quick access to all your filters at once. Super convenient, right? Especially if there was more filters at some point in the future.. White Balance For more unusual lighting conditions, Obscura now lets you lock the white balance, or select from a few presets. It’s on auto by default, of course. Rotation Lock It seems a little crazy that a camera app should follow the system rotation lock, and most don’t. However, some people did want a rotation lock. So we came to a little compromise. Now there’s a rotation lock within Obscura. (you can also tap and hold on the camera view to prevent rotation) Spirit Level The Spirit Level has been moved and now has it’s own button. Woohoo! Redrawn Icons Obscura is even prettier. An elegant camera for a more civilised photographer. Performance Improvements Does it seem snappier? It’s a little snappier. Layout Improvements Especially on older devices. Bug Fixes All over the place. Squashed to a pulp. It got messy. What's New in Version 1.1Obscura 1.1 introduces a few new features.
Camera Switching Double Tap anywhere on the camera view to switch between the front and rear cameras. Because a certain app used for chatting with snaps uses this gesture and it quickly becomes habit. Spirit Level Tap through the grid buttons for access to the spirit level. The spirit level will help you get your photos nice and straight. Which is really nice for landscapes and architecture and whatnot. Volume Buttons By popular demand, Obscura now supports using the Volume Up button on the side of your phone. Which is pretty nice right? Well that's not all.. Because you can also use the Volume Down button to lock in your Focus and Exposure, making Obscura that much more like an SLR camera. And of course, there's been lots of bugs squished.
